Is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to fill the senior position of:
Agronomist
Job Purpose
Responsible for driving innovative farm practices and technologies to improve cocoa production, control pests, disease, weeds & protect the environment. There will also be strong emphasis on working out which cocoa varieties are best suited to St Vincent.
General Description/ Scope
Reporting to Andrew Hadley (MD):
Regular field checks
Insect, weed & disease monitoring / diagnostics
Soil sampling & moisture status monitoring
Irrigation scheduling
Ag chemical, fertilizer & seed recommendations
Equipment calibration
Crop rotation planning and hybrid/variety selection recommendations
Detailed computerized field reports & permanent record keeping
Crop budgeting & planning
Educational / promotional presentations as needed
Qualifications
Professional Agronomy qualifications
At least two years’ professional experience in Agronomy
Specific experience of cocoa an advantage but not a prerequisite
Driving Licence

Ability to work in a testing hillside environment and walk long distances
Ambitious, energetic, enthusiastic, dependable, effective-communicator, flexible
